Kenneth C. Cancellara, Q.C. is a Counsel with Ricketts, Harris LLP and has practiced law for over 35 years. Previously he was the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Biovail Corporation, a leading international pharmaceutical company, where he was also responsible for negotiating and completing complex agreements in product licensing and acquisitions.
Kenneth has extensive experience in commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution, defamation, director and officer liability, fiduciary duty of directors, patent infringement litigation, securities fraud, investigations by regulatory agencies, injunctions and injunctive relief. He also has extensive experience in tax litigation matters. Kenneth has participated in local and international mediations and arbitrations and served as lead counsel retained by various Departments of the Federal Government on highly visible and important trial and appellate cases. He also acted as a counsel for a number of Crown Corporations in respect of day-to-day advice and other publicized issues and provided counsel to numerous substantial and renowned private and public corporations with experience at all levels of trial and appellate work, from administrative tribunals to the Supreme Court of Canada.
