D. John Hamilton is a Counsel with Ricketts, Harris LLP where he
conducts a very successful family law practice.
John is a low
key, high-powered lawyer who assists his clients achieve their best

including marriage contracts, separation agreements, division of
property, custody and child support, spousal support, pension and
business ownership division and all related court proceedings. He
has excellent working relationships with other professionals and
experts such as parenting coaches, child health care specialists,
social workers, financial specialists and business valuators, who
can be brought into negotiations when required.
Many clients
are drawn to John’s practice because of his ability to successfully
work through even the most hostile disagreements to their greatest
advantage without unnecessarily escalating antagonism amongst the
parties. They experience a fair, dignified, well-organized, and cost
effective settlement of their matrimonial issues and assets without
rushing to court. John advocates ‘going to war’ only when all good
faith negotiation and every other effort to settle have been
exhausted. When he does take matters to court he’ll act rapidly to
address immediate concerns and help clients gain control over their
lives. Not intimidated by usual courtroom hostilities and
allegations, John is known for his superb litigation skills.
