Andrea is a mid-level commercial litigator who started her practice with a leading Toronto civil litigation boutique, took time out to obtain her Master of Laws Degree from McGill University and then practiced employment law with a major downtown Toronto law firm. Andrea was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005.
Andrea’s passion for litigation stems from an interest in human rights and social justice issues and she is recognized for the research papers she has published and presented on the subject. Her experience as a litigator has brought her before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List), the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Canadian and Ontario Human Rights Commissions.
Andrea is the recipient of numerous awards for her academic achievement, including the Honourable John Sopinka National Entrance Scholarship (Toronto), the Ting Sum Tang Memorial Prize for highest standing in Canadian or International Human Rights Law (Toronto), and the Pilarczyk Graduate Award in Law (McGill), presented to an outstanding graduate student.
Andrea has also been a presenter and panellist at several professional development programs offered by the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association. Andrea is a member of the 2011-2012 executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. She is also a volunteer board member of METRAC (The Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children).
Andrea has travelled in Europe, Central America, and Asia, and enjoys live music and reading. She is a supporter of the (new) Winnipeg Jets.
