“One of my strengths, even as a young lawyer, is that I always look for an out-of-the-box solution to a client issue,” says Gleb, an associate who received his law degree from the University of Toronto. “Lateral thinking opens many more possibilities and a better outcome for the client.”
He not only comes up with innovative solutions to often-traditional problem, Gleb has an ability to zero in on the right approach that wins the case either in or out of court. Clients and colleagues often refer cases to him because they are confident in his ability to achieve results.
Gleb has co-written a number of articles, including contributing to Global Arbitration Review, an international publication that appears in 42 jurisdictions worldwide, and assisting Harry Underwood and Rene Sorrell with a review of the Danier Leather case, which was ultimately cited by the Supreme Court of Canada in their appeal decision.
In 2007, Gleb accepted an internship at the American University in Cairo, spending eight months addressing the legal needs and organizing the resettlement of Iraqi refugees that fled to the country to escape the violence back home. He learned enough Arabic to communicate with Cairo’s rambunctious taxi drivers. Upon returning to Toronto, Gleb resumed practicing litigation.
